defining success

I did week 5 day 3 today (yeah, I know, a little off track there but at least I got myself back). I didn't quite make it the full 20 minutes. Around 12 minutes in I power walked for about 1.5-2 minutes and finished the rest running.

Technically this should be considered failure, but I can't bring myself to see it that way. It's better than I've ever done before! I truly cannot find it in me to be disappointed especially considering that I ate like crap this weekend and haven't run in four days. In all honesty, I should have repeated week 5 day 2 before moving on after that gap for a more accurate idea of my ability but meh. I wanted to try and keep moving forward. Wednesday I'll try again.

Tomorrow I'm getting back into the strength training that I started a couple weeks ago. That cruise is coming up soon and I want to feel good in a bathing suit before I get on that boat!


  1. I am in a running group that does 3 minute running intervals followed by 1 minute walking...don't ever feel like doing 12 minutes straight is not enough! You got out there and that's what counts!

  2. Some days its just HARD. Some days you just can't do it. I had one of those days yesterday. Perk up! The next run will be better!
